Introduction

Raised in the Carrollwood area, she obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami. She completed her medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine followed by Internal Medicine residency Hahnehamm University Hospital in Philadelphia. She completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. She has served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at Drexel University and Hahnemann Hospital. She is a specialist in Diabetes, Metabolism and other issues pertaining to the thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands. She has participated in academic research studies and has given several presentations including Internal Medicine and nursing grand rounds, nursing conferences and community lectures. She is a Fellow in the American College of Endocrinology. She is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Thyroid Association and the Endocrine Society. She has also been involved in policies and review of the diabetes care program at Florida Hospital Carrollwood. Dr Patel is affiliated with Florida Hospital Carrollwood and Florida Hospital Tampa. She has also been accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.
